Phoenix, Arizona—A statewide task force targeting drunken drivers has led to the arrests of more than 2,350 people so far.

The Governor's Office of Highway Safety says the holiday enforcement began Nov. 25 and will end in two weeks.

In less than a month, agencies have arrested 2,352 people on charges of drunken driving.

Of those, 585 face extreme drunken-driving charges because their blood-alcohol content was more than .15 percent—double the limit of .08 percent.

Of those arrested, 248 had previous DUI arrests and 111 were under the age of 21.

Agencies participating in the task force include police in the Phoenix and Tucson areas and the statewide Department of Public Safety.
